“I took my 18 month old fox terrier to Jacqui at Canine Central for rehab after 6 months in plaster after breaking 4 tarsal bones in his foot.

Jacqui assessed Wilson and treated him with a therapeutic laser and Bowen. She also created a 6 week rehab program for him which I could access online and Jacqui would adjust and update weekly the program in consultation with Wilson’s vet depending on his progress and tolerance of the exercises.

Jacqui has a rapport with dogs and has the ability to make them feel safe and calm. She is professional and genuinely cares. She provided a safe working environment.

After each Bowen treatment Wilson was so relaxed he would sleep the rest of the day away. The progress that Wilson made while under Jacqui’s care was outstanding! Part of the success of his progress was that I had to be very strict with him and stick to his exercise and rehabilitation program.

He was non weight bearing when the plaster was removed with considerable muscle wastage in the affected leg, by week 3 the improvement was significant, and Jacqui adjusted exercises to suit his progress, by week 6 he had begun swimming every day.

Without a doubt the success of Wilson’s rehabilitation is because of the care and guidance we received from Jacqui at Canine Central. Jacqui was amazing to work with, she constantly monitored Wilsons progress and was approachable at any time.I would not hesitate to give Jacqui a glowing recommendation for Canine rehabilitation.”

“Anyone who may be skeptical about the efficacy of Bowen treatment should take a look at the ‘before’ and ‘after’ videos of our dog, Zeiss. The difference between the two is quite remarkable.

Zeiss is a 12 year old GSP who had recently been in obvious discomfort, even though he has been on a prescribed anti-inflammatory medication for arthritis.

Following only two treatments with Jacqui, his pronounced limp has completely disappeared, the inflammation on his paws has diminished and he is behaving like a much younger dog.

To provide Zeiss with Bowen sessions is the ultimate treat for a treasured member of our fur whanau. To see him return to his more natural movement, his natural curiosity and even playfulness is something we never thought we would see in him again.

Jacqui’s interaction with Zeiss is delightful to watch. He clearly enjoys the treatment and responds positively to it. We are truly grateful to Jacqui for her skills and genuine care.”

“Bowen treatments for our dog Dougal have helped him with pain relief and stiffness. I personally find Bowen helps me release stress, and reduces aches and pain. I have a greater range of movement after treatments.

Jacqui is an outstanding practitioner and has not only a wealth of experience and knowledge but intuitiveness with magic hands.”

“Our wee Jack Russell/foxy cross dog, Ally, dislocated her hip a couple of years ago. We took her to the vets and she had surgery (Femoral head ostectomy). But after this she wasn’t making any progress. We were then recommended to Jacqui. After a few appointments we began to see a huge improvement. She sent us home with exercises that we could do with Ally. Now it’s like it never happened, back to her old self.

If we ever needed help with something like this we would not hesitate to send our dogs to Jacqui again. Could not recommend her more highly.”

Jacqui has been involved with my Scottish Terrier Tammy for several years as she has had an arthrodesis on her front right leg and has had a major cruciate ligament operation on her rear left leg.

For some time Jacqui has visited and treated Tammy with laser and Bowen treatment with therapeutic exercises which has been beneficial.

Tammy is always happy to see Jacqui and more than happy for her to treat her. I have found Jacqui organised and caring. I can certainly recommend her for her treatments.

My Border Collie Nugget injured his left hind knee seriously in April 2022 during a walk when he was just one year old. His operation on 2 May 2022 went well but the damage was more substantial than we had hoped for. In the first month after the op, I tried to confine him as best possible and the vet suggested that some rehab would be very beneficial to get Nugget back to normal. Jacqui took Nugget on as a case study and the progress Nugget made during those weeks was amazing.

Jacqui met with us first just to get to know Nugget and make him feel at ease with his sore leg being handled by her. Jacqui then assessed Nugget and designed an exercise program for us. For each of the prescribed exercises, Jacqui provided me with an online link to a description as well as videos which showed clearly how to do the exercises with Nugget.

We had weekly sessions where Jacqui checked on Nuggets progress and then adjusted the exercises accordingly. Jacqui was always very patient and genuinely caring with Nugget who could at times be somewhat protective of his sore leg.

Nugget also received several Bowen treatments which helped his progress as well and at least in a couple of cases, I noticed clearly an improvement in Nuggets range of movement after the treatment.

There is no doubt in my mind that the rehab program and care Jacqui provided helped Nugget’s recovery immensely and if you see him running today, you would never guess that he ever had an injury let alone such a serious one. I am very thankful to Jacqui for her kind and professional support and I can only very highly recommend Jacqui at Canine Central.

Our 7 year old Bernese mountain dog ‘Min’ had sore hips and joints a few years ago. At one point she was clearly unhappy and we could see her discomfort moving around. Jacqui’s regular treatments are so helpful. We now have our youthful happy playful Bernese back. I highly recommend her work.
