HOW it works

Rehabilitation Consults

Before your first consult

All Canine Central services are provided by a fully certified animal rehabilitation practitioner in a relaxed and stress free environment at our Bannockburn clinic.

The foundation of a good rehabilitation plan is a comprehensive assessment. Canine Central facilitates obtaining a referral for rehabilitation from your veterinary team.

$

You can download a Vet Referral form from the contact page to take to your veterinarian and have filled in.

$

Please also request that your veterinarian email’s your dog’s veterinary records to jac@caninecentral.co.nz

This, together with lifestyle information gathered from a New Client’s Form or a Working Dog New Client’s Form helps us to gather valuable information so we can build an effective rehabilitation programme.

$

It’s important for your dog to have trust in us so the initial evaluation is where we like to take our time and build a rapport with your dog.

$

You will need to be there to hold your dog and provide reassurance (and treats) if needed.

Happy Clients

“I took my 18 month old fox terrier to Jacqui at Canine Central for rehab after 6 months in plaster after breaking 4 tarsal bones in his foot.

Jacqui assessed Wilson and treated him with a therapeutic laser and Bowen. She also created a 6 week rehab program for him which I could access online and Jacqui would adjust and update weekly the program in consultation with Wilson’s vet depending on his progress and tolerance of the exercises.

Jacqui has a rapport with dogs and has the ability to make them feel safe and calm. She is professional and genuinely cares. She provided a safe working environment.

After each Bowen treatment Wilson was so relaxed he would sleep the rest of the day away. The progress that Wilson made while under Jacqui’s care was outstanding! Part of the success of his progress was that I had to be very strict with him and stick to his exercise and rehabilitation program.

He was non weight bearing when the plaster was removed with considerable muscle wastage in the affected leg, by week 3 the improvement was significant, and Jacqui adjusted exercises to suit his progress, by week 6 he had begun swimming every day.

Without a doubt the success of Wilson’s rehabilitation is because of the care and guidance we received from Jacqui at Canine Central. Jacqui was amazing to work with, she constantly monitored Wilsons progress and was approachable at any time.I would not hesitate to give Jacqu a glowing recommendation for Canine rehabilitation.”

“Anyone who may be skeptical about the efficacy of Bowen treatment should take a look at the ‘before’ and ‘after’ videos of our dog, Zeiss. The difference between the two is quite remarkable.

Zeiss is a 12 year old GSP who had recently been in obvious discomfort, even though he has been on a prescribed anti-inflammatory medication for arthritis.

Following only two treatments with Jacqui, his pronounced limp has completely disappeared, the inflammation on his paws has diminished and he is behaving like a much younger dog.

To provide Zeiss with Bowen sessions is the ultimate treat for a treasured member of our fur whanau. To see him return to his more natural movement, his natural curiosity and even playfulness is something we never thought we would see in him again.

Jacqui’s interaction with Zeiss is delightful to watch. He clearly enjoys the treatment and responds positively to it. We are truly grateful to Jacqui for her skills and genuine care.”
